Tips for staying safe on Locket

Updated today

Locket is a place to connect with your best friends and share authentic moments from your life. It's our top priority to keep the platform safe, positive, and fun for everyone, which you can read more about here.

Additionally, there are a few steps you can take to make sure you're extra safe on Locket:

1. Add your best friends only

Locket is at its best when you use it only with your closest friends. Most people on the app only add their 10-20 best friends and you should aim to do the same. Although there is no way to discover new people on the app, be sure to only share your username and invite link with people you know and trust in real life.

2. Only send things that are appropriate for your friends

Be mindful of the things you send on Locket and only send things that you want your friends to see. If something could be embarrassing, mean, or inappropriate, it's better not to send it.

3. Report concerns

If you see something on Locket that feels unsafe or makes you uncomfortable, report it right away. Every report is reviewed immediately and other people won't be notified of your report.

4. Bullying

Make sure to always be nice to others on Locket. If you see something that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, report it and talk to your parent or a trusted adult about it. You can also block that person to no longer have any contact with them.

5. Password security

Keep your password safe and don't share it with others. If another app or website asks for your password, never share it.

6. Age Minimum

Locket is only available for users who are 13 years or older. If we determine an account belongs to someone younger than that age, we take action to terminate it.
